Rutgers Senior Girl

Meet Cheyenne, a strong, passionate, and hard-working recent Rutgers graduate.

Cheyenne majored in Exercise Science and Sport Studies. She was involved in Rutgers University Club Softball, the Transfer Center as a Transfer Mentor and Rutgers Leadership Academy within the Leadership Office. Her interests include being outdoors, lifting weights and running, and walking her dog. Spending time with family and friends is always important to her.

At honeygrow New Brunswick

Cheyenne chose two on campus locations for her shoots. We started the shoot on College Ave near Scott Hall. She chose College Ave because she spent her last semester there and always thought the campus was beautiful. She studied a lot there during exam time.

“The pictures on College Ave on the stairs are extremely gorgeous. The snow was nice, but by the time we took the pictures it melted a bit so it made it hard to find a nice spot for the pictures.”, Cheyenne recalled.

The gate outside Old Queens is the subject of a Rutgers legend. It is said that a Rutgers student should only walk through the gate on two days: convocation and graduation. – from Wikipedia

Cheyenne was looking for a calm, winter look. Her birthday and her graduation date are both in the winter so she wanted the pictures to look like it was winter.

“My hair is unlike most others so speaking for curly haired women, do whatever makes your curls pop the most. “

“My sister did my makeup for me and I trusted her enough to do a simple look. “

“For shoots, I feel as though natural and simple is the best look one could have.”

Our second set of pictures were done near the Plaza at Livingston Campus. Cheyenne chose Livingston because she lived there for two out of the three years that she was at Rutgers.

“I absolutely loved the outcome from Livingston. I would get each picture developed and shown off in my house if I could. The lighting is beautiful and the angle of each picture fits the look I wanted.”

“Changing once was a hassle for me so I’m glad I only brought two outfits. More than that would be excessive. I would not change a thing. I loved both outfits. One expressed my personality and one showed off the school from which I graduated. To prepare, I would tell one to make sure the outfits are picked wisely and have precise locations in mind.”

“I always wear my ring and earrings. My name ring is always on my finger. Earrings are usually covered by my hair so I’m not even sure they can be seen. I chose to wear a choker because I like them more than necklaces. They make the look pop more.”

“The all black outfit really made a statement to me and that is why I loved it so much.”

Cheyenne’s biggest fear was that she would not like the pictures. Turns out, she loved almost all of them and had trouble picking out which ones she wanted edited.

Now that she is done with school, Cheyenne is working full time until she begin physical therapy school in May.
