Adopt A High School Senior
I continued with my “adoption” project celebrating local moving up and graduating students impacted by COVID-19. After posting a question in my Facebook group, I received several responses. And this one came through. Rose, an independent, creative and enthusiastic East Brunswick High School senior, said “yes” to the “adoption”. She chose to have the pictures taken at the school on her official graduation day (June 17, 2020) in her cap and gown.
During the photoshoot, I had a nice chat with Rose. When asking how she coped with the quarantine. She told me she was doing fine.
“It was hard being in the house all the time but it gave me more time to focus on myself and do things that I enjoy, like making art and watching movies. It feels a bit odd that I watched myself graduate over a YouTube sideshow and not experience it in a big arena like I’ve seen so many classes before me do. I am happy that an alternative graduation was decided upon on July 6th as it will feel more like a traditional graduation.” – said Rose
Rose will be attending the Nursing Program at Emmanuel College in Boston. She choose nursing because her overall goal is to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, which first requires her to be a Registered Nurse.
Rose told me what she look forward to the most about college will be going to a new place and being able to explore a new area of my life.

We also took some pictures at the athletic field. Alternative graduation ceremonies as four separate events were held there on July 6 and 7.
Rose told me she didn’t have many concerns about the photoshoot. She was very excited to have me take her pictures because she had heard that my work is always incredible. (Thank you!!)

She listened to what type of photos we were looking to achieve and offered suggestions since she is in fact the professional! I hired her to do my daughters first birthday party photos and she captured the moment perfectly. I was so pleased with her work I hired her again to do a mother and daughters photo shoot for Mother’s Day. She NAILED IT one of the most beautiful photo shoots I have ever seen.
